7 Simple Sleep Tips for Deeper, Calmer Rest Tonight

Good sleep rarely comes from one big change. It comes from a handful of small habits that, stacked together, tell your body it is safe to power down. Here are the seven we recommend most often to B Sleepy customers.

1. Keep a consistent bedtime

Your body clock loves routine. Going to bed and waking up at roughly the same time every day, even at weekends, is the single most effective way to improve sleep quality. Within two weeks most people find they start feeling sleepy at the right time naturally.

2. Dim the lights an hour before bed

Bright light in the evening suppresses melatonin, the hormone that makes you drowsy. Switch off overhead lights after dinner and use warm lamps instead. If you can, keep your bedroom lighting soft and low for the last hour of the day.

3. Put your phone to bed first

Scrolling keeps your mind stimulated long after the screen goes dark. Charge your phone outside the bedroom, or at least across the room, and swap the last thirty minutes of screen time for reading, stretching or quiet music.

4. Keep your bedroom cool

Most people sleep best in a room around 16 to 19 degrees Celsius. A cooler room helps your core body temperature drop, which is one of the triggers for falling asleep. Breathable bedding and a pillow that does not trap heat help too.

5. Watch caffeine after midday

Caffeine has a half-life of around five to six hours, so a 3pm coffee can still be in your system at 9pm. If you struggle to drift off, try making lunchtime your last caffeinated drink of the day and switch to herbal tea in the afternoon.

6. Support your head and neck properly

A pillow that is too flat or too high forces your neck out of alignment and leaves you tossing through the night. A contoured memory foam pillow cradles the natural curve of your neck, easing pressure on the shoulders so your muscles can fully relax. It is the upgrade our customers notice first.

7. Build a wind-down ritual

Brains love cues. A short, repeatable routine, like dimming lights, a few slow breaths and settling into a comfortable pillow, teaches your body that sleep is coming. Keep it to fifteen minutes and repeat it nightly.
